The material used in the Pro Flexitubes is a special blend of 3

The special arrow shape makes this disc an absolute joy to both lift off the water and cast.  The material is a special stiff brass alloy, allowing us to make the sides thinner. This, combined with a big exit angle, will not crumple or suppress hackle or hariwings. Furthermore, the big bore allows the tyer to make “less than perfect” heads and still get a very nice result. The paint job is in a class of its own. Every cone is polished by hand before the painting process to make sure that the end result is the best in the world. Use it in the front of the fly to create turbulence and volume to soft materials or use on the body of the fly for lifting the wing, hackle etc. A new tendency we see here in Europe is that a lot of fly tyers also use it toward the back of the fly for better swimming characteristics.
 The optimized disc design makes it very easy to lift of the water; light as a feather to cast. The shape allows the tier to make “less than perfect” heads, and still get a good result. The soft and flexible material gives the possibility to change the disc size, color or even change to another disc type if desired. All our discs have exactly the same diameter and pre-tension in the center hole, so what you believe is the right color or what you feel the fishing situation dictates is entirely up to you.  The holes in the disc makes it very easy to lift of the water, but also allow water to flow through the disc adding even more life to the wing. Due to the convex to concave shape of the disc, gives a very generous bore to allow the tier to make “less than perfect” heads, and still get a good result. Available in 4 sizes and 16 colors.

o the drawing board to design a tube which had the advantage of connecting two dimensions of tubing together and design
this into one tube. It sounds like quite a simple idea, but its not!!
Up until now this has only been possible by cutting and gluing two
different diameters of tubing together. This method however will leave a
“weak point” in the junction between the two tubes, and the risk of
breakage is high. The Pro Flexitube system™ is injection molded for
superior strength and precision.
